Today in lesson we were looking at the impact Radio has as a media and communication device, then we were tasked to look up 3 local radio stations and identify their format and who they're owned by etc. Then we had to set up a basic listener profile for each radio station that we had researched. Our objectives today were as follows;
  • Name radio stations broadcasting in the UK
  • Recognise what is meant by 'format'
  • Identify the format for different radio stations
  • Create a target listener for three given stations

In media terms, an audience is any group of people who receive a media text, and not just people who are together in the same place. They receive the text via a media carrier such as a newspaper, television, DVD, radio or the internet.
